Do you have natural leadership abilities and have an interest in government? The Masters of Public Administration with a concentration in State and Local Government (MPA) program at Argosy University is designed to develop action-oriented problem-solving managers for the public sector, with a special focus at the state and local levels of government.

Designed for working adults, students have the opportunity to develop the competencies required to execute the duties and responsibilities of public sector managers, including evaluation and supervision of employees, reinforcement of the organizational mission, and effectively managing organizational resources.

Students who pursue an MPA degree through Argosy University will have an opportunity to:

  • Communicate the roles and limitations of government at any level (federal, state, local) in specific circumstances.
  • Gather information, discern gaps, develop, and evaluate possible solutions and alternatives regarding political, social, and financial costs and benefits of public sector initiatives.
  • Execute duties and responsibilities such as: evaluate and supervise employees, reinforce organizational mission, and manage unit budgets.
  • Establish, build, and sustain effective working relationships with relevant parties to achieve organizational goals.
