The Master of Science in Sport Management degree with a track in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration was designed in response to request from high school coaches and athletic directors who plan on pursuing a career in intercollegiate athletics, and to meet the needs of current junior college and university coaches and administrators who seek to maximize their leadership and management effectiveness in current or future positions. The specialized classes have been designed to provide practical learning experiences for those wishing to pursue a career in athletic administration. The courses have been designed in consultation with the NCAA to provide the fundamental skills necessary to function effectively in an intercollegiate athletic department.

The emphasis of the MS in Sport Management Studies offered by California University of Pennsylvania is on preparing students for positions of management and leadership within the sport industry. The program recognizes the need for developing the student's capacity to solve many problems arising from ever-changing economic difficulties, political and regulatory conditions, and marketing strategies. Students study and discuss real-life scenarios to ensure their competency in today's competitive sport industry. This degree requires 36 credit hours for graduation.
