Master of Business Administration - Mediation and Dispute Resolution

Offered By: Colorado Technical University

Dispute resolution has become increasingly significant in modern business environments because it can help prevent the involved parties from becoming entangled in costly litigation, strikes or other disruptions.

The Master of Business Administration - Mediation and Dispute Resolution, offered by Colorado Technical University in affiliation with the Institute for Advanced Dispute Resolution (IADR), emphasizes the application of mediation process skills in the workplace and reflects the balance needed for developing excellent mediation skills to provide and apply high-quality conflict resolution procedures. It includes 2 interactive capstone courses: MDR Capstone I - to devise a strategic plan to analyze and categorize the material elements in dispute; MDR Capstone II - apply the analysis strategy and decision-matrix from Capstone I to a simulated dispute.

The program is designed to help graduates prepare to pursue such careers as Arbitrators, Legal Consultants, Labor Relations Managers, Conflict Management Specialists, Integration Managers and many others. Enrolled students will be required to earn Advanced Practitioner of Mediation (APM) certification through IADR Global before enrolling in the Capstone I course. Those who have previously earned APM certification will receive 12 credits towards the completion of this career-focused program. For convenience, APM certification courses can also be taken on the Colorado Tech Online Virtual Campus.
