Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership in Effective Schools

This doctoral-level degree program is designed for teaching professionals who are ready to rise to the challenge of leadership in today's complex and dynamic K–12 schools and districts. The program develops leaders capable of innovation, invention and discovery as well as the responsible application of current best practices to achieve organizational goals and objectives. This highly relevant and robust curriculum focuses on the major bodies of leadership literature and theory and identifies the most appropriate and effective applications to educational, business and organizational environments. Participants will develop academic and organizational research expertise through the study of statistics and research methodology. The program of study is consistent with Grand Canyon University's mission to develop students who are global citizens, critical thinkers, effective communicators, and responsible leaders. With the Emphasis in Effective Schools, the program further prepares graduates to apply current leadership theory and best practices to the current topics of education today, including the issues and forces transforming the educational system and schools of various districts and types (elementary, middle, secondary, rural and urban). Graduates possess the knowledge and skills that educational leaders need to conceive new strategies of practice by forecasting the future of the educational system, the institutions, and the constituencies they serve.
