Developed for licensed educators, the MEd in Secondary Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment prepares educators seeking to advance their professional careers. Currently licensed educators find coursework, including capstone courses, designed to augment their professional knowledge, skills, and aptitude. The MEd in Secondary Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment aligns with the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and Colorado Commission on Higher Education (CCHE) professional standards. The CDE and CCHE recognize the high quality of JIU's MEd preparation degrees and have designated JIU as a state-approved program of teacher and principal/administrator preparation. For most states, graduating from an approved program of preparation is an important step toward achieving educator licensure or certification.
