Offered By: Kaplan University

The objective of this online degree program is to help prepare you to pursue career advancement in information technology by providing you with the knowledge, communication skills, critical thinking skills, creative skills, and technical competencies relevant to the modern workplace. If you are interested in starting or advancing your technology career, the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program could help you meet your career goals.*

Students enroll in one of two tracks of study. The applied technology track focuses on how to use and manage various information systems and technologies to best serve the needs of employees, customers, and organizations. The information systems track is a more rigorous course of study that requires three advanced math courses in statistics, linear algebra, and discrete mathematics, and focuses on information systems architecture from a broad systems perspective. In addition, students may personalize their degree by choosing a career focus area. Career focus areas allow you to focus your elective choices on a specific area of study that best fits your desired career path.

Consider the information security and forensics career focus area if your desired position requires you to investigate system vulnerabilities and implement solutions that provide protection against security attacks.*
