When you become a veterinary assistant, you'll discover plenty of careers that involve animal health care. You can work at a private veterinary practice, helping your veterinarian to administer vaccines and perform surgical procedures as well as examinations. You can provide needed care at an animal shelter, humane society, animal hospital or laboratory.
