In the Counseling and Social Change concentration you will prepare for your role as an advocate and change agent for the counseling profession and your community. Learn to apply ethical practices and leadership skills for community, national, and international issues that affect the profession. Examine current trends and use prevention, intervention, and consultation models to respond to community needs for social change.

The Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision is not a licensure program and does not prepare an individual to become a licensed counseling professional. It is not accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). However, the program was developed to be in line with national standards for counselor education. Since it is a new program, the university is not yet able to apply for CACREP accreditation. Students will be notified at such time if the program becomes accredited in the future.
