The Master of Science in Computer Information Systems degree is designed to blend current foundational Information Technology skills with foundational managerial competencies. The IT curriculum covers technical skills that meet the requirements of most IT/e-commerce businesses, current application development, maintenance skills on diverse systems including Microsoft® servers and Linux®/Unix® systems, programming languages including C++ and Java™, database design and management, and telecommunications/networking skills using web technologies. In addition, you'll learn to apply management-level training to project management as well as managerial competencies in IT accounting, personal communication, planning, and budgeting.

Successful completion prepares you for management, consulting, and technical projects in both traditional and e-commerce related businesses.

You may select a Business Administration concentration, which gives you the opportunity to explore emergent as well as traditional concepts underlying the Computer Information Systems curriculum.

Entry into the degree program is not limited to students with computer backgrounds. If you do not have a computer background, you can access foundational principles through prerequisite classes. If you have a computer-related undergraduate degree, you can complete the program with 36 credit hours of graduate work.
