The Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration is designed to provide post-baccalaureate education to criminal justice professionals. The primary goal of the program is to develop in graduates the ability to analyze, comprehend, and resolve the complex problems confronting the criminal justice system. Criminal justice and law enforcement agencies are actively encouraging their officers and staff representatives to pursue criminal justice degrees as a means of gaining advanced training, improved salaries, and prestige in the field. Increasingly, federal and state agencies employing law enforcement personnel, including police officers, special agents, sheriffs and deputy sheriffs, state police, postal inspectors, juvenile justice specialists, FBI agents, DEA agents, U.S. Marshals and Deputy Marshals, INS agents and others are requiring a college degree as a condition of employment and promotion into higher ranking leadership positions require an advanced degree.
