Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Technology

This major will provide students with a thorough understanding of the technical knowledge, research findings, skills and methodologies encompassing computers, communications and software, with an emphasis on technology and information systems. It will enable students to design, create and manage modern information systems and employ technologies to solve complex problems in organizations. The program's blend of computer systems and information technology will create a well-rounded professional who knows how to think analytically, assess and diagnose organizational problems, and select the best solution.

Major courses include information systems design, network operating systems, computer programming, project management and leadership trends in IT.

Courses are offered in an accelerated, 8-week format. Students can obtain a degree in four years (less with transfer credits). Those entering with an associate's degree or equivalent can earn their Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Technology degree in about two years. Prospective students with prior college credit and/or other credit-bearing experience can submit transcripts for an evaluation and degree plan.
