The Human Development program prepares working professionals for a number of varied industries such as counseling, social services, human resources, teaching, and more. The coursework promotes personal and spiritual growth by emphasizing Christian values, ethical principles, and effective interpersonal communications in diverse settings. Human Development provides an excellent foundation for individuals who seek to better understand people or whose work centers on working with people. Students will gain personal skills that will assist with interacting with and understanding people at various stages of life. It is also of value to those who want to improve their people skills. Students form a critical base of knowledge and skills as they are prepared for further career development and/or graduate study. Many graduates continue on to HIU's online or on-site Master of Education, Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, Master of Arts: Ministry, or Master of Business Administration.
