Norwich University's Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree is designed to provide a foundation of knowledge in the principles and concepts of public administration. You will acquire the skills and techniques required to implement policies, projects and programs while refining your skills in integration, research, writing, and critical analysis. Our curriculum will provide you with a comprehensive study in organizational management concepts, best practices, decision-making processes, strategic planning, legal issues, budgeting, and fiscal management. Specialize in your area of interest by customizing your degree in one of six concentrations:

  • Organizational Leadership - requires you to identify a personal leadership style, tendencies and preferences as a professional, and how one assimilates and applies information.
  • Public Works Administration - provides an in-depth study of topics such as: human resources, legal, political, and technological issues, public works planning and project management, environmental impact and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Continuity of Governmental Operations - teaches all of the elements needed to develop a continuity of operations plan for a governmental agency and how to respond to incidents that effect governmental agencies.
  • Criminal Justice Administration - provides an in-depth study of personnel management, law enforcement best practices, police leadership, accountability, productivity, and managing special units.
  • Public Organization Fiscal Management - provides an in-depth study of legal and regulatory foundation for financial management, integrated financial management information systems, auditing, and evaluation and risk management.
  • Leadership - focuses on differentiating the conceptual and theoretical aspects and models of leadership and leadership studies in order for you to apply leadership skills and principles to your place of work.
