The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, with its option in Applications Development, offers a challenging, state-of-the-art education for those interested in learning the dynamic and growing field of information technology. OIT's IT program provides industry-relevant education through course sequences in:

  • Network Design
  • Relational Database Design
  • Systems Analysis
  • Additionally, OIT's program also requires a three term Senior Project sequence where students are able to pursue their individual interests within the field of IT. Core business applications which are learned in this program are difficult to outsource. Most companies need IT professionals to help them conduct business in the global economy.     In order to provide the most access to coursework OIT offers three, 10-week quarters and an 8-week summer term. The Information Technology Applications Development Option focuses on the acquisition of theory and technical competencies to prepare you for successful careers in Application Development, Network Administration, Systems Analysis, Database Administration, or Technical Support. The curriculum is designed to produce graduates with advanced problem solving competencies, good communication skills and the hands-on technical knowledge necessary for success in the workplace or further graduate education. Many of our graduates pursue further work in graduate programs.There is a strong management component in the program that provides you with industry required background in business organization and management.
