OSU Horticulture courses tackle contemporary real-world decisions faced by professional horticulturists. They include labs, diagnostics, student-managed projects, and field-based problem solving. You will become skilled at finding and synthesizing information in order to deal with the novel situations you will face during your horticultural career. As Horticulture major you will learn principles and practices associated with horticultural production within the context of plant pathology, pest management, soils, ecology, and economics with applications in plant nutrition, pest management, business and marketing. Job titles of Horticulture graduates include; Urban and regional planner, Landscape architect, Soil and plant scientist, Agricultural inspector, Nursery/greenhouse manager, Park naturalist and many others.

OSU Extended Campus additionally offers over 15 online minors to complement your degree, to help hone your skills in a particular field and can enhance your marketability after graduation. Students will complete a total of at least 180 credits.
