The UC Master of Health Administration (MHA) program provides working professionals and other qualified individuals an opportunity to gain the credentials, knowledge and skills needed to effectively lead and manage health care organizations, agencies and practices. The MHA program combines a competency-based curriculum; diverse, well- respected faculty; and a proven distance learning model to provide tools for career advancement.

Meet the Demands of the Health Care Industry

  • According to the US Department of Labor Bureau of Labor and Statistics, jobs in medical and health services management are expected to grow 16% from 2008 to 2018.
  • As the health care industry grows and advances, it will continue to provide leadership opportunities in management, consulting and executive level positions.

Competency-Based Curriculum

  • The curriculum was developed in collaboration with the Colleges of Allied Health Sciences, Business and Medicine to encompass the multiple disciplines, needs and roles within the complex health care environment.
  • Areas of study include health policy and economics, business, finance, leadership, management, population health and overall quality improvement of health care.
  • Students will engage in a hands-on residency developed to cultivate their management and leadership skills.
