Offered By: University of Cincinnati

University of Cincinnati's College of Nursing creates leaders for an industry that craves their expertise. Our students are challenged to be agents for real change by a faculty of experienced, practicing nurses. With our diversified suite of online MSN specialties, graduates are empowered to drastically alter the course of the healthcare industry and the lives of countless patients. Online learning affords our students the flexibility to work in their home community while earning their advanced degree. Our UC MSN graduates also exceed the national pass rate for certification.

The Psychiatric/Mental Health specialty is for nurses interested in the human mind and behavior. These nurses are focused on quality of life, and their work is based on asking questions. The Nurse Practitioner becomes an expert at treating communities, families, adults, and geriatrics. The Clinical Nurse Specialist works with the same special populations but with an eye towards using their expertise to improve nursing practice, organization, and systems. The CNS also has an opportunity to focus on the growing field of child & adolescent psychiatric/mental health nursing. With their expertise in behavior, many psychiatric nurses may find themselves at the crossroads between health care and the law—working in forensics, the prison system, or with victims of abuse.
