Master of Arts in History

The Master of Arts in History is designed for a variety of constituencies; for those students wishing to obtain sufficient credits to teach at community colleges, for those students wishing to continue on for the Ph.D., and for middle school and high school teachers in the social sciences who desire additional training in the content area of history. This degree does NOT lead to teacher certification or a field endorsement. All coursework is offered in a convenient online format. Admission to the M.A. in History program is based on the undergraduate GPA, letter of intent, letters of recommendation, and a writing sample. The University of Nebraska at Kearney offers affordable tuition to out-of-state online students. For 2009-10, non-resident graduate online tuition is $323.75 per credit hour; resident graduate tuition is $198.25 per credit hour (fees are additional).
